How to ensure safety while using vacuum lifting equipment

As we all know, the theoretical safe suction refers to the fact that the vacuum suction cup is not damaged or cracked, the surface of the vacuum suction cup is clean, the quality of the board surface is good, and the lip of the vacuum suction cup fits the board surface better. In the case of less air leakage, the vacuum degree can reach more than 60%.Therefore, to ensure the safe use of the vacuum suction cup system, it is important to pay attention to the below points .

 

(1)   Make sure to regularly clean and inspect the lip surface of the vacuum suction cup (the side attached to the board), and regularly check the vacuum suction cup for scratches, cracks and aging. If so, replace the vacuum cup with a new one immediately.

For our vacuum lifting device ,We apply high strength wear resistant acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber which with longer quality guarante period for 18 monthes .And besides ,we equipped the vacuum leak alarm system ,which can ensure the equipment works safety above the standard vacuum .

 

 

(2)   If the surface of the steel plate is rusted and uneven, the safety factor should be increased, otherwise it may not be absorbed well. in this case. we have taken into consideration when in design.

 

 

For some sheet with oil or uneven surface, especially for thin metal plates, our lifting device with special ball head design which can adsorb the material tightly in uneven condition. And if the material with oil, it is even better for our rubber have better air tightness.

 

Normally when we customized the lifting system for our customers, we will leave some extra capacity. Take 1000kg lifting device for example, actually 5 pcs of 300mm diameter cups are enough for loading but normally we will apply 6 pcs.so if the sheet with some extra conditions that out of standard ,it works .

  

 

(3)   Sheet metal overhang requirements for vacuum suction cup system: The overhang is the distance between the edge of the plate and the edge of the nearest vacuum cup. When the overhang is large, the board sags seriously, and the vacuum suction cup cannot absorb it. 1mm piece with 500mm safety overhang. Considering the problem of overhang, for different sizes of steel plates, the length of the main beam, the number of vacuum suction cups and the spacing of vacuum suction cups must be specially designed.

 

 

(4)   What if accidental power off ?

Yes ,normally when in develop this device, this is an important factor needs to be taken into consideration ,for our vacuum lifting ,we have pre-solutions in case of this

For Battery type ,if powered off, none of influence .

This happens for the electric type ,we equiped with check valve and large capacity accumulator ,when in the accidental power failure ,the workpiece can still remain in the sucker position for 5-30 minutes for your handling .

So while this happen ,normally the work piece are within our sight or arms that means we can take actions within 2 minutes .
